Lol i remember back in the day we had the ump that had coke bottles for glasses.......you could tell he couldnt see nothing.....And i was playin on 3rd and there was two outs....and there was a slow roller over to me so i had to charge and bare hand it....The ball beat the runner by 1 1/2 steps but when it hit the firstbasemens glove he musta forgot to close it b/c it just fell outta his glove...And the runner was called out so the other coach came out and they started arguing....So i got tiered and i went to go get ready to bat..and right as our team started walkin off the field he changed his decision.....Darn it...i was upset but....he did call it right....a whole 5 mins later

Being an ump would be such a s**tty job. When they make bad calls, or if a play is too close to make a clear call, it's like they have a 50-50 choice, and just eeny meeny miny mo or something. What I don't get is, in professional, why they don't review plays/calls on the tv before deciding a call, if it's that controversial.... Slow Mo and different angles make all the difference.

yep umpiring is a thankless job.... in cricket, we have a "3rd umpire" or a "t.v. umpire".. the 2 umpires inthe field can defer some of the decisions to the 3rd umpire who can look at slomos on his t.v and then pass a decision on whether the batsman is out or not... takes some pressure off the field umpires...

********UPDATE******** I am leaving for Wichita, KS tomorrow to play in the NBC baseball World Series! Its the best 42 college/semi-pro baseball teams from around the whole country. My team gets to go!! Wo0o0o0o0o! My Coach told me that I am throwing Game 1 of the tournament, which is the MOST important game of the whole tournament! I am sooooo PUMPED!!! If anyone cares, they can watch the game semi-live on the actual website. There is not audio or video, but they update the website thingy after every pitch. My mom "watched" every game last year  Anyway, WISH ME LUCK! There are going to be a lot of scouts out there!!!! The WEBSITE: www.nbcbaseball.com |

Just got back tonight... I am way too tired to write about it, but out of 42ish teams we finished 3rd. I had 2 starts and 2 wins. Tell you all about it later!

thx Shorty. Ya Meg, I have super super slow dial up at home so its not even worth playing. I get back to school on the 22 of september, then, after getting DSL squared away, I will be able to play again!!!! wo0o0o0o0oo0o0o!!!! Oh ya, So if you ARE a hottie Megs, where's the pictures???
